We all have a story. We would like to share with you the Gospel story.

What is the Gospel?

God

Who is God?

The first thing we need to know is that God is! Genesis 1 and 2 tells us of God’s eternal nature and His perfect design for creation and mankind. Just as God is perfect in His holiness, He made mankind in His image to reflect His holiness.

The Bible also tells us that God is just and a justifier of those who put their faith in Christ (Romans 3:26). He is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in love and faithfulness…forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin (Exodus 34:6-7).

Because of God’s holiness, just nature, and love; He has loved us in our sin but loves us too much to leave us in our sin, separated from Him.

Mankind

What about mankind?

In Genesis 1-3, we see that mankind began perfect, in complete harmony with God and creation. However, we sinned and through our sin, we are separated from God in His perfect holiness.

Romans 3:23 and 6:23 tells us that we have all sinned and fallen short of God’s glory and that our sin has earned us death, but Romans 5:8 tells us that even in our sinful state, God’s love and justice reached out to us, and He sent Jesus to die the death that we deserve so that we could receive God’s grace and mercy through faith in Jesus.

2 Corinthians 5:21 tells us that Jesus was sinless and perfect in every way that we are not, and through Him we can receive His righteousness.

Our Response

How do we respond?

To become the rightness of God through Jesus and be brought back into right relationship with God, we must respond with repentance and faith (Mark 1:15).

Repentance means to turn away from our sinful rebellion against God.

Faith in Christ is a surrender of our total selves to Him in lordship; trusting in His finished work on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins and our salvation.

This is what we call the Great Exchange: We surrender our sin and everything we are and have in this life to Jesus. In return, He takes our sin and clothes us in His righteousness. Our life for His atoning death on the cross.

Romans 10:9-10 tells us that if we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved; for with our heart we believe, resulting in righteousness, and with our mouth we confess, resulting in salvation.

If you are ready to place your faith in Christ, we would like to visit with you, but you don’t have to wait on us. You can pray directly to God now. It isn’t about saying a special prayer, it is about a sincere conviction as you pray something like this as the overflow of your heart to God.

Jesus, I know I can’t save myself from my sin, and I know You have promised eternal life to those who repent and put their faith in You alone. I trust You to forgive my sins and give me life. Thank you for dying in my place to make salvation possible! Everything that I am, everything that I have, is Yours!
